Foreign minister says India hampering regional peace process
SIALKOT: Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif says Pakistan is making hectic efforts to maintain peace in the region but India is creating obstacles in the peace process.
Addressing a gathering in Sialkot, the minister said India was in the grip of war hysteria, which is evident from the fact that it had been frequently breaching the ceasefire along the LoC and the Working Boundary, resulting in the death of innocent civilians.
Asif made it clear that any Indian misadventure would be befittingly responded.
He said the international community should recognize Pakistan’s efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Of late, India used a deadly attack by militants on its army-camp in India-held Kashmir to launch verbal attacks on Pakistan.
Indian Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman warned that Pakistan would have to pay for any misadventure, triggering backlash from Islamabad and counter warning of ‘proper response to any Indian misadventure’.
Responding to her warning, Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir said Pakistan will pay India in its own coin in case of any misadventure, and will robustly defend every inch of its soil.
